A new photographic studio space in the Cotswolds for my still life and product photography has, by chance, become available and GULHOS has taken on this new shooting area.
It is sadly not equipped with a kitchen but, as most of my food photography is done on location at the restaurants and venues that commission the images, it makes perfect sense to perform the shoot at the kitchen that creates the dishes and so I don't usually require a dedicated kitchen at my studio.
I do, however, have access to a couple of very exceptional kitchens belonging to Food Stylists and Cooks who I work with, and they are easily accessed from my base in Warwickshire and now my studio in GL55.
It is important to keep the options open, as each job I take on is unique, so it is exciting to have a new studio space that is especially suited for photo shoots requiring controlled lighting, and producing high-quality images of such items as drinks and pack shots.
With a variety of flash and continuous lighting, stills and video can be achieved very closely together, allowing short videos and still images to complement each other as part of a combined media campaign.
